Fancomic for the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. This work was highly influential to me, so it would be a disservice not to create a page dedicated to it. (That being said, make sure to check out the artist's other works, too! So good!)

Themes of the Comic
The comic continues on the themes of family and perseverance from the original show... it also touches on community, how people rely on and support each other, a sense of responsibility, grief, and making the best of what you have/finding the light.
Personal Significance
I found this comic during maybe my first year of university(?)--a time of great change and having to adapt to a new life. The work deeply resonated with me (and may be part of the reason I still think about the rise turtles very often; I can frequently move from interest to interest, but finding this comic might be part of the reason why my interest in the turtles moved with me to this new phase of life so strongly... it introduced a new, more "mature" look into the series through exploring the lives of the future turtles). The art of this comic feels alive, and it's not difficult to be inspired to create whenever I read it.
Fanwork like this is fantastic to see, and although this shrine is mostly for myself, I also hope to be able to interest anyone who should happen to come across this page.

Background Info for the Comic
The original ROTTMNT cartoon has two seasons and a movie. The movie is time-travel centric: in the future timeline, the turtles face the reality of the kraang apocalypse... but in the movie, viewers are shown only the very end of that world, the point at which the entire resistance fails and Casey Jones Junior is sent back in time, leaving an unknown period of time between the beginning of the invasion and the end of the resistance.
The Cass Apocalyptic Series seeks to explore the lives of the future turtles while they live and work for the resistance. The comic follows up to and is canon-compliant with the official movie, skips a period of time, and then continues after the movie with its own story...
